Brian P. Callahan, DDS was educated at the College of Eastern Utah, in Price, Utah and the University of Utah. He was then selected to attend the University Of Nebraska Medical Center College Of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska. While attending dental school, Brian excelled in many aspects of his dental education. He spent countless hours doing research dealing with human anatomy and dental local anesthetic. Upon completion of his project, he was selected to compete at the national American Dental Association annual convention in Washington, DC. Brian competed against the winning dental students from each of the dental schools in the U.S. and Canada, as well as, a few international students.
Brian was selected as the winner of the national competition and traveled to the Chicago Mid-winter dental meeting to finish his presentation and competition. Due to the success of the project, two different journal articles were published in national dental journals.
Brian also spent time in the summer between his 3rd and 4th year of dental school obtaining additional experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. This was an invaluable experience as a dental student and has served his patients well over the last 12 years.
Brian received numerous awards in dental school and graduated first in his class, having received a very good dental education and enjoyed many wonderful experiences.
Upon graduation in 1998, Dr. Callahan moved to Vernal, Utah and opened a general dental practice focusing on many aspects of dentistry. Dr. Callahan has continued to remain current in the ever changing field of dentistry by completing the requirements necessary to receive the Academy of General Dentistry’s Fellowship award. This is presented to dentists who look to provide the highest quality of dental care possible while also completing at least 500 hours of continuing dental education, passing a rigorous comprehensive written exam, and being active in membership of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Callahan’s accomplishments show his allegiance to the profession and commitment to ensuring his patients receive excellent oral health care. This challenging process of becoming a Fellow exemplifies Dr. Callahan’s dedication to continuing education and distinguishes him professionally in the dental community.
Dr. Callahan and his wife, Tina, are the proud parents of four beautiful children, Kennedy, Kassidy, Kaitlyn, and Benjamin. He is a firm believer in the old adage, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well.”
